Search by the words, and by what they mean.
A Data Engineer post that only says “ETL” and “Spark” should still find you. JobPluck ranks every job twice, once on exact keywords and once on meaning, then merges the two into one list built around your resume.

What happens when you search, or when we match for you.
- 01
Read your profile
Target roles, skills from your resume, preferred cities, work mode and experience become the query. A typed search works the same way.
- 02
Rank by keywords
BM25 scores exact skills and titles, case-insensitive, with synonyms like reactjs = React and k8s = Kubernetes.
- 03
Rank by meaning
Small embeddings of the role, skills and description find posts that describe the same job in different words.
- 04
Merge and filter
Reciprocal Rank Fusion combines both lists. Filters and exclusions apply to both, and anything you've applied to is hidden.
Keywords catch the exact skills. Meaning catches the rest.
Write it the way you write it.
- Case doesn't matter
- Abbreviations map to full names
- The same dictionary feeds your ATS score
Narrow it down the way recruiters post.
Numbered pages, four ways to sort.
Smart matching, answered
Does matching use AI?
No language model is involved. Keyword ranking uses BM25, and meaning-based ranking compares small text embeddings computed on our own servers. The two rankings are merged with Reciprocal Rank Fusion. The same inputs always give the same order.
How often are my matches updated?
Right after you finish setup, whenever you change your profile, and every six hours. New posts also become searchable within minutes of arriving.
Why does “Best match” show at most 500 results?
Fusion ranks the top 500 candidates from each method. Past that point the ranking stops being meaningful, so the other sorts (newest, highest ATS, experience) let you browse the full list.
Can I hide jobs I don't want?
Yes. Dismiss a match, or add companies and keywords to your exclusion list in Settings. Excluded jobs never appear in matches or get applied to, even with auto-apply on.
What do I need to see jobs?
A verified email and a phone number on your profile. Recruiters often call before they reply, so JobPluck won't show or apply to jobs until your number is there. LinkedIn and GitHub links are optional.
